Wan Zhao, an award winning violinist from China, has studied at The University of Cincinnati- College – Conservatory of Music. In the summer of 2008, she performed with The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Zhao has studied violin with Professor Gaoyi at the Wuhan Conservatory of Music and won the Wuhan Conservatory Violin Competition. She has also studied with world renowned violin pedagogue Lin Yaoji in Beijing,
China. At the age of 18, Ms. Zhao came to United States, where she studied with Kurt Sassmannshaus both at the Aspen Music Festival and CCM. Her private teachers also include Timothy Lees, the concertmaster of Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Violinist Cho-Ling Lin. While in College, she performed Scottish Fantasy Violin Concerto by Max Bruch with the Starling Chamber Orchestra and played the Stravinsky Violin Concerto in D with CCM Concert Orchestra. She served as concertmaster in the CCM Concert Orchestra and has been a contracted member with the West Virginia
