Lana Smith has over fifteen years experience in working with piano students of various ages and backgrounds, from beginning to college levels. She specializes in classical repertoire but also uses different methods and music styles, according to student’s interests. Her warm and patient teaching approach is particularly suitable for beginners and kids, but her exceptional performance background and artistry gives her the ability to confidently teach and prepare students at the most advanced levels.
Mrs. Smith graduated from the University of Oregon (M.A. in Sociology of the Arts) and Belarus State Conservatory (B.A. in Piano and Music Theory), and studied music management at European Summer Academy in Salzburg, Austria.9 She worked as piano instructor and accompanist for a Moscow music college, Russia, and a private studio in Oregon, USA. Currently teaches at University of Phoenix, Cincinnati, OH.
